Pump-a-Lump

In order to maximise the longevity of matter in a seed vault, the space is constantly pumped with cool, dry air. Rather than having the architecture and HVAC operate separately, this design seeks to incorporate the two in order to have a building that literally pumps. In addition to physically pumping in air, the building also allows the space to contract between pumps in order to retain an equilibrium for longer.
